Common questions

How many days do you need for a trip to Japan?

A week to ten days is enough for the classic Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto and Osaka line. Two weeks lets you add Hiroshima, the mountains or regions like Hokkaido and Okinawa without rushing. We have ready-made itineraries for every trip length.

How do you travel between the cities on a Japan itinerary?

The bullet train (shinkansen) is the fast and comfortable way: Tokyo to Kyoto in about two and a half hours. If your route covers several far-apart cities, a JR Pass usually pays off. Within cities you use the metro and a Suica or Pasmo card.

When is the best time to set off on a Japan itinerary?

Spring (late March to April, cherry blossom) and autumn (October to November, red leaves) are the most beautiful and popular. They are also the busiest and most expensive, so book accommodation and trains ahead.

What does each ready-made itinerary include?

Every itinerary is built day by day with recommended places, train connections, areas to stay and on-the-ground tips, so you can set off with no extra planning.
